FAQs

What type of test is this?

Our at-home COVID-19 test is a serology test. The test measures your body's immune response to the novel coronavirus SARS-COV-2 by detecting the presence of two antibodies, IgG and IgM. The presence of which indicates exposure to the virus.

When will the test be available?

We are working closely with the FDA to obtain authorization under the Emergency User Authorization (EUA). We will plan on shipping the kits within 2-3 weeks of receiving approval.

How can I order a test?

Once the test is avaialble for purchase you will be able to order a test after you complete a short questionnaire. One of our clinicians will review the answers and, if a test is appropriate for you, will order the test. These measures have been implemented to follow CDC test ordering guidelines.

How does this test compare to COVID-19 tests available at hospitals and doctors offices already?

The tests that are being done at hospitals and testing facilities test for the presence of the virus in your body. Unlike these tests, our serology test measures the presence of the antibodies responsible for neutralizing the SARS-COV-2 coronavirus. These tests can indicate exposure to the virus for those who were asymptomatic or who previously had symptoms but did not get tested.

Congress passed a bill for free tests, why does this test cost money?

A potential aid package that could help make coronavirus testing free for many Americans was announced recently and has been gaining momentum through Congress. We have reached out to elected officials to see how we can be involved - we would love to provide this test for free! As it stands, we are pricing the test as low as possible while covering our costs.

Will this test tell me if I'm immune from the coronavirus?

While it is still not known whether exposure to the SARS-COV-2 coronavirus will render one immune to the virus indefinitely, it is believed to be the case. If you test positive for an antibody test, it will indicate that your body has developed antibodies to fight the virus and is likely able to ward off future infections.

Who should take this test?

Anyone that has been symptomatic and has not tested positive for the SARS-COV-2 coronavirus, anyone that has been in close contact with someone who has been exposed to the virus or tested positive for the virus, and anyone that is currently living in a hot zone such as New York City should get an antibody test.
